Solid Hardwood Flooring

Solid hardwood is milled from one piece of lumber all the way through. That means it can be sanded and refinished several times, so a floor can change color or recover from wear without being replaced. It suits main floors and bedrooms with a wood subfloor and stable humidity.

We install solid hardwood across Middle Tennessee, including Nashville homes with older wood subfloors and newer builds. We help you choose species, width and finish, let the wood acclimate to your home and nail it down for a floor that is tight and quiet.

FAQ

Common questions about solid hardwood

Can solid hardwood go in a basement?

Not usually. Solid wood moves with moisture, so basements and slabs are better suited to engineered or resilient floors.

How many times can solid hardwood be refinished?

Often several times, depending on the thickness of the wear layer and how it has been sanded before.

Which species is hardest?

Hickory and hard maple are among the hardest common choices. Oak is a classic that balances hardness with easy upkeep.
